So… I first ever started online dating in 2015 and was on and off some of the main apps for several years (Bumble, Happn and Tinder). Overall it wasn’t a smooth journey and finding a true match wasn’t easy to come by. After some time away from online dating and when I felt ready, I decided to try Hinge at the very start of 2021 and instantly liked the layout, the way you can create your profile and add a little quirkiness to it. I was quite picky who I got chatting to because I wanted to find someone who felt right for me and me for them. I only spoke to a few people on Hinge, but they appeared to be more genuine compared to people I had spoken to (and met) on other dating apps in the past. By spring of 2021 I had deleted my Hinge account because I met someone very special on there who is now my boyfriend. We’ve known each other over 5 years, we are extremely happy, moved in together at the start of 2022 and still together now (2026!). I recommend this dating app to someone who is looking for a serious relationship but I can understand that not everyone’s experience of using Hinge has been a positive one. Dating in general isn’t black and white. Lastly, I have never left a review for dating apps before and have been in longterm relationships that began from meeting people online, but I found this particular app to be the most positive dating experience and enjoyed using the app itself. I don’t ever rate apps but felt the need to rate Hinge. A friend recommended Hinge to me after a few bad experiences with other apps and I really liked it. The app gives you prompts to choose from so that you can answer questions about yourself and state different opinions. What I liked about this feature is that it shows a lot more personality and allows you to start a conversation with someone. I also like that it’s not solely based on pictures and an optional bio like Tinder and I loved how the app asks for feedback on people you have spoken to or been on a date with so that they can suggest someone more your type. I also liked how there were different filters for example for religion etc because for some people those factors help with building a foundation of a relationship and are very important. What I also liked about this app was that it was full of serious people looking for serious relationships. I fully vouch for Hinge as I was able to meet the most amazing man. I got Hinge in December and though I no longer have it because I have now been with my boyfriend for 6 months, I still very much owe it to Hinge, and also my friend who suggested me going on it for the most healthy and honest relationship I have had. For me I found him very quickly on Hinge and I know it’s not the same for everyone but it’s honestly worth a download. There were so many lovely men on there as well who wanted to have genuine chats about personal interests who were not particularly for me but had more of a respect for me than what I had found on other apps. Fantastic either way.

I signed up for hinge hoping to meet someone, without having to fork out for ridiculous fees that supposedly having read from other reviewers don’t work anyway. I have now been on the app for nearly 4 weeks, haven’t had a single like or match. I’m a decent enough looking bloke and was scratching my head until I read some other reviews and it all becomes apparent. Without subscribing to their paid service you probably won’t even be seen let alone have your messages sent to other persons and them seeing it. Let’s do the maths here. 8 likes a day, of which I’ve sent complimentary messages to a woman’s prompts. That’s 56 intro’s a week. 224 for the last month. No response to any? Strange or fixed? I’d think so. Outrageous really. I know a app like this is a business but to treat someone like this is outrageous. Oh and just to let you know. I Saw an old school friend who was single and frustrated being on this app. We decided to try and find eachother and try to match to eradicate any such worries. And guess what we saw each other, liked each others prompts and guess what. Nothing!!! Fraud of a site. Con con con. Purely there to extract as much money as they possibly can from you without the worry about how that person might be feeling. You can’t even be rejected on this site as you don’t get any likes!!!! Don’t give this con site any of your money I nearly did just to attempt to meet someone. Prompts constantly to upgrade for better chances to match or meet someone? I think not. Used to be half decent app completely fell off the radar to take as much money off people without any regard for their feelings or mental health. Shame on you, you have been exposed!
