Edit: Apologies to the devs for my highly critical original review (Unedited original review below). After seeing their response I reinstalled the app to get version info and record a video of the issue but the issue is no longer there. It would seem this was a bug rather than an intended function. It’s unfortunate that my automatic reaction was to blame the devs and assume malicious intent due to how bad intrusive apps really are these days. I have now corrected my rating to 3 stars. I would really like to see more challenging puzzles, it would also be great to see puzzles that were more relevant outside the US. I think the biggest fault left with the game is the outrageous ad-free subscription price. This should be a one time payment of no more than $5. Realistically $3 seems like a good pricing for what the game is in it’s current state. Original Review: The puzzles are ok but a bit too easy. Overall though it’s good enough. But… It’s always had ads, that’s fine, they need to be funded somehow. You get an ad at the end of each puzzle, they’re generally short and are skippable after only a few seconds. I’m fine with this, however… They just updated and now every few seconds an ad banner pops up during the puzzle every few seconds OVER THE KEYBOARD! The game is now completely unplayable. I’m not going to swipe away ad banners every 5 seconds! And it’s disgusting to have such a mechanism that is clearly designed to harvest accidental clicks due to the banners popping up whilst you’re in the middle of typing a word! I’m now uninstalling this app after playing it for over 2 years. Before the latest update I would have given 3 stars (3.5 on my personal scale). It’s sad to see so many apps ruined by stupid design choices.

I found this game one of the quickest to keep my brain active due to the letters being entered quickly and feeling I was on the ball with my answers! But now I find that the higher your score goes the slower the game becomes. It’s like when your battery is about to die and your phone runs slow that’s what is happening. I have an up to date iPad with only one other game with takes less space than this one. But the more I play this the more I’m becoming disappointed and finding myself looking for other games to play. Hopefully can be sorted quickly so I can come back and enjoy the game.

This game is quite fun and is good for passing time. However it drains both IPhone and IPad battery very quickly so you have to be careful when playing if you want some battery leftover for other things.I would still recommend the game though. 😊
