Brick is the world's first digital wellness tool designed to turn smartphones back into tools, helping people take back control of their time, attention, and technology. A small tool paired with a powerful app that temporarily removes distracting apps and their notifications from your iPhone, leaving only what you choose.
In a world designed for constant distraction, Brick introduces a simple but powerful idea: friction. By requiring a physical tap to enable or disable distracting apps, Brick creates a deliberate pause between impulse and action - turning smartphones back into tools for what matters.
HOW IT WORKS
Choose which apps or websites to block: social media, games, news, streaming, or anything distracting
Tap your iPhone to Brick to activate your chosen mode
A focus timer starts automatically, tracking your distraction-free time
Place Brick somewhere out of reach and go live your life
When you're ready, tap again to regain access
Not nearby? Activate Brick remotely in the app. You'll still need the physical Brick to unblock, keeping the commitment real.

Brick helps you take back your time, turn your phone back into a tool, and use technology the way it should be: with intention.
I have really struggled with phone addiction. Tried every app blocker, technique etc. I thought as a last resort I would try the Brick as to buy it outright is cheaper than maintaining an app subscription for the year. I put my Brick in my car and I have been achieving Bricked periods for 23 hours most days with a stint of 50 hours as my best. Keeping my Brick in my car means I am not tempted to un-brick and also I have to be really intentional if I do want to unbrick for a short period. It has made social media feel ultimately quite boring and now I scroll for a short period before getting bored. It no longer has the appeal. It’s still early days but this has had the most positive change for me. I did wonder how the Brick would differ from what is already on the market but to keep the Brick in my car has been a game changer for me. I am sure there are other ways you can be creative if you don’t have the car option.

Update: Brick has released a scheduling feature which is a great idea! Set it up to use today. The ‘workarounds’ no longer work and I can’t get online via a link in another app like notes.I still have issues with the app crashing when selecting apps to block but I copy and paste the app name into the selections now which for some reason stops it crashing rather than just typing in the name so it’s an easy work around. Saved my sanity around my kids!Old review; I bought Brick and as a UK user had to pay quite a lot to get one. I do really like it but 1) It was problematic trying to block safari, the instructions didn’t work brilliantly but I got there in the end. 2) I have found work arounds for example if I have a hyperlink in my notes app I can follow it and get online even if the browsers are locked, when I find one I try and block the app which leaves me toMy biggest issue 3) the app crashes when setting up which apps are blocked. Brick acknowledge this and I eventually get there but it has been annoying that I have to try repeatedly before I can block an app and finally 4) I don’t have any emergency unbricks for some reason which means I can only brick the phone when physically near the hardware as I don’t want to have to delete the app and start all again! Overall though it’s a useful tool which is allowing me to be much more present at bedtime with my kids.

I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to for Brick due to how life changing it has been for me. I am a student who struggles with focus and distractions, even within the silent study library. I’d often just override my phone’s built in screen time functions and continue doomscrolling anyway. But Brick has changed all of this. I block all social media when I’m out spending time with my partner or friends, and just leave some basic apps, calls and messages open. I still need a smartphone for other things, so Brick was the perfect solution for me rather than a “dumb” phone. I also admin a Facebook group, this was really starting to take over my life and felt compelled to respond to everything all the time. This has stopped with Brick, and I can now dedicate particular times for social media. I am delighted with this. Such a great idea & thank you.

Thank you so much for sharing this! It means a lot to hear how Brick has helped you create healthier boundaries while balancing school, relationships, and the responsibilities that come with running a community. We’re so glad it’s been able to give you back more focus, presence, and control without needing to give up the benefits of having a smartphone. Life changing
Can’t fault, love it
This has been what we needed. We don’t have to get rid of social media but we’ve managed to take control of it again. We brick out the evenings and get to sleep much faster and sleep better and it’s turned into a completion as to who between my wife and I can stay bricked longer. It’s such a simple concept but it’s made such a significant difference almost immediately. I love that there are no subscription fees, no ads and you can use one brick for multiple people or buy multiple bricks for multiple places like the car too! Literally amazing. Can’t recommend enough, if you want to control how you use your iPhone and stop it controlling you.
