BBC Weather app and your privacy
To display weather in your current location, you can activate location services on your device. You'll find them in Settings>Privacy>Location Services.
Don't worry, your precise location is not stored by the BBC; the app chooses the closest location where weather information is available.
This info is kept anonymous, secure and we won't share it with anyone. No other personal data relating to you will be sent to the BBC either (for instance, a username, email address or unique device identifier). If you don't want the BBC Weather app to display the weather for your current location just go to Settings>Privacy>Locations Services>BBC Weather. Then where it says "Allow location access" select "Never".
If you install this app you accept the BBC Terms of Use at http://www.bbc.co.uk/terms. To read BBC’s Privacy Policy go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/privacy.
Having a BBC account offers a safe and secure way to add up to 10 locations which you can access on other devices when you sign in. To find out more about getting your own BBC account and what it lets you do, then go to https://www.bbc.co.uk/usingthebbc/account.
About BBC Weather
BBC Weather is responsible for preparing and broadcasting weather forecasts across the BBC, in association with MeteoGroup. The BBC broadcast its first weather forecast in 1922 and by 1936 was pioneering the use of weather maps during TV forecasts. The BBC Weather App was launched in 2013 and is now one of the most popular weather apps in the UK.
Pretty accurate , easy to follow and just amazing ! However one problem is the locations ….. it doesn’t have as many locations as basic weather apps . Like if I go on safari and search up like a village in a random county like let’s say in Germany , it comes up ! They need to add more places onto the app because it affects the accuracy ! If they don’t have your location they do the nearest one which could literally be in another country! Please fix that but overall , still amazing !
Rethink latest changes
Me Julie 1
I’ve always liked this weather app right up until the most recent update when they’ve moved the weather for the day to the bottom (so you have to scroll down and then scroll across to see the days weather). If you scroll left or right when you first access the app then it changes the location (why would you want to do that as a primary action?). Very frustrating to use in its current format, please change it back.
Default location no longer works!
4BeatBars
After a recent update, my ‘home’ forecast no longer works! It shows my location automatically as ‘Meadowlands’ (Surrey), but then says ‘unable to update’. If I enter an alternative location nearby, it works. But not with the ‘default’ location. I am unable to change my default location, so have to enter it manually whenever I use the app at home. What happened? Why can’t I change the default?
Not user friendly any more

The latest update is not an improvement. Previously the day’s weather could be viewed on the opening screen; now we have to scroll down to see it. Future weather could be viewed using a bar at the bottom of the screen; now it’s at the top so we obscure the screen as we access it. Viewing weather in other locations was easy by swiping to the left; now we have to leave the home page and access locations. Please bring back the previous version!
This release contains general bug fixes and improvements.
