I've loved the Pikmin games since I was a kid, and now one year after starting I'm so happy with Pikmin Bloom! I've got so many Pikmin, postcards, friends, and digital scrapbook memories! I love visiting new places and walking lots and seeing what my Pikmin find! If you want to make your little local trips or holidays fun, this is perfect!

  • Laggy and overheats — but it is so fun

This game was really fun but I don’t remember when it started to bug my phone out LOTS and as soon as I open the app it starts to overheat my phone and it get’s super laggy and glitchy. Nothings loads and things are sort of flying about everywhere. But I really loved it while I had it and grinded so hard I reached lvl 25 in two months. But I’m thinking of quitting now sadly. As I type it’s slow and my phone is on fire because I dared to even try use the app.

  • Lovely game, but unstable

    Chococake79

Have been playing Pikmin Bloom since it was released and I love it - the characters are cute, very collectible, and good for encouraging getting out and about. However, in recent months, it has been very unstable for me. Freezes on starting up, crashes other apps I have running at the time, and seems generally energy hungry. I had hoped they might have fixed some of these issues by now but it’s an ongoing issue.

  • A great game and tool for recovery!

I have been playing for a month now and started as I was looking for a good pedometer to use while healing my broken leg. I started with few steps only going back and to from the shops with it running in the background, using two crutches and slowly getting there. Now I’m almost off one crutch and have an average of 10k steps a week give or take. I feel good to have a routine of a new walking path, also going off it to wander around buds to grow and to try to gain big rewards from the mushrooms. As a previous Pikmin player I would love to see this game evolve to collect treasures to sell in the expeditions, create ships to fly to bonus areas, have creature fights (dead Pikmin could either recover over time or become seedlings and flower petals) and even something like the challenge modes where you use a good amount of Pikmin to use their features in a time limit to gain rare nectars and petals. Ideas that I’ve had from walking but this easily deserves the 5 stars for the help it’s given me, the fact I’m not addicted to it but use it as a tool and for its potential as Niantic have done before to develop their games. I’m excited for the future of this game too!

  • excellent little app

    😀👍🏻‼️

the game in itself is so brilliant, brings me joy, however I had a couple of suggestions. - please please make it possible to ‘lock’ certain pikmin in your squad. I always specifically add pikmin to my squad that I want to keep feeding and levelling up and it gets really annoying when I do a mushroom challenge and suddenly my whole squad has changed and I have to manually add the specific pikmin back again. same with whenever I receive a gift and then the pikmin who brought the gift back rejoins the squad - couldn’t you make it just walk away? there could perhaps be an option that says ‘would you like this pikmin to join your squad’ or something like that. - it’s a shame that once you send a postcard, you’ll never have it back. i understand still having it once you’ve sent it would be odd as that’s not how postcards work but maybe it should be possible to send a postcard you got from someone else back to them. - also wish there was an option to be able to watch previous daily lookbacks without having to add more photos and change it completely. sometimes you might just want to watch it replay, it’s a cool animation 🤷🏼‍♀️

  • Enjoyable with flaws

Firstly I really enjoy this non-game. It isn’t a game, but it is motivation to get out and walk without having to be on your phone. It’s great to look back on the day and see how much colour and joy you’ve spread from walking. It’s encouraged me to get out on my lunch break for a 20 minute walk rather than stayed glued to my desk. Collecting Pikmin and gathering rewards from my walks such as seedlings and nectar is an added bonus. Flaws - other reviewers have already mentioned some, such as lack of motivation to engage further due to no rewards (eg postcards, joining others in destroying mushrooms, etc). My personal biggest annoyance is that it repeatedly tells me “you’re going to fast” and the only option to do is click “I’m a passenger”. I’m not a passenger!! I just walk fast. If I click I’m a passenger, it’s logs you are in a car and not walking. So the only way to clear the pop up is to hard restart the app. Which is frustrating. So developers - please work on content, yes, and create bigger incentives for certain tasks. But please make the app more intuitive to know some people walk at different speeds - and give another option to choose when the pop-up is triggered than just selecting ‘I’m in a car’. Suggestions: “I’m a passenger” OR “I’m running” etc.

  • Greed has ruined this app

Honestly, just use the pedometer on your phone to track steps. Uses FAR less battery, and doesn’t try and scam money from you. If you want a game, stick to POGO.Mushroom challenges giving out regular nectar, which wasn’t exactly hard to obtain beforehand, simply because greedy Niantic want more people to shell out for microtransactions was an abysmal decision. Since the nerf I have had five mushrooms IN TOTAL give me seasonal nectar. FIVE. Size, colour, number of stars doesn’t matter whatsoever. If you’re not going to re-balance this in some way then either just get rid of mushrooms entirely, or add another challenge method of obtaining seasonal nectar. There is little to no incentive to continue any more. Seedling spawns haven’t really improved, RNG on colours is terrible so completing decor sets is made too difficult (I’m waiting for the ‘guaranteed colour’ gizmo microstransaction to inevitably appear). Flower planting is pointless because we can only realistically plant daisies, as nobody is going to waste seasonal petals when they can’t be reliably replenished. Levelling up grants poor-to-useless rewards. The only decent thing are the weekly challenges but they’re only good when they give proper rewards like seasonal petals/golden seedlings (instead of plentiful regular nectar).

  • A great start but…….

    Lealiketea

I loved this game when I started playing but, to be honest, it’s starting to become boring already. WHY DID YOU CHANGE MUSHROOMS!! Seriously?! They are pointless now unless you live somewhere very busy 😥I am currently level 68. I love the concept and it has definitely encouraged me out the door for a morning walk before work. But I am becoming frustrated at only getting the same Pikmin decor over and over again. I don’t travel around that much due to work and caring responsibilities, so am not able to get some of them at all. Very few people will visits a zoo or airport regularly. The postcards are frustrating also, as lots don’t open them and you lose Pikmin for ages. I’ve now stopped sending them. It would be great if there was some reward for sending and receiving postcards. For example, you got an expedition from the place you have been sent one from. That would incentivise postcards for me. Also, better rewards for levelling up would be good.

  • A wonderful exploring game, just avoid microtransactions!

    joinlygraff

Wonderful. A real novel use of the Pikmin franchise. While dodging microtransactions, there’s still enough you can do manually to make progress so that it feels fun and not slowed without paying. If you’ve never played a GPS game, its a cute way to find local art, landmarks you may not have know about. Rediscover your neighbourhood! To clarify: these games often employ predatory mechanics to get you to pay real money. No option to buy outright/subscribe, just microtransactions. Always horrible. From my perspective, the “exchange rate” of real world money to in-game currency is so wildly off that Niantic should be ashamed. I regret paying money into this game ever, and the fact there are options to spent hundreds of real world £ is frankly disgusting. Despite this practise that I assume comes from higher ups needing the game to take in profit, the game is a sweet and well-designed take on location games. I walk so much now and really enjoy setting my flower-planting when I do.

  • Great game but missed potential

    YAY 🎃👻😃

Pros: Less luck based (sure theres decor pikmin but those are optional!), flower planting and army building is satisfying, Relaxing, Cons: Map location is inaccurate, Flower planting barely gives any coins, interacting with pikmin is lackluster, Game basically forces you to wear rainbow clothing at the start (not that im against lbgtq ppl, i just dont want to look like i am lbgtq),overall not much to do. Get this game if you have a kid who you want to encourage to go outside or if you like pokemon go and want a pikmin alternative. Things to add, Enviormental areas (collecting stuff in water requires blue pikmin and other random elemental areas are dotted around the map which require specific pikmin). Gameplay 7/10 Graphics 6/10 Simplicity 6/10 Final rating 4/5 I know i didnt say much positive about the game but that is because i exited the app store app without sending deleting my review and i forgot what i had typed in however i strongly advise you try the game even if it has some issues.
