Vector art is remarkably useful—you can create completely scalable works simply by manipulating a variety of shapes. Assembly shines with accessible and intuitive features that let designers of all skill levels quickly add gorgeous objects to their photos or make artwork from the ground up. Thanks to a refined interface, you can alter your drawings easily on both iPad and iPhone. Plus, with a suite of smart sharing tools, it’s easy to collaborate with other designers.

  • Make anything you could want effortlessly

I've used a few vector design apps in the hope that my creativity won't actually be hampered by my design skills. This is the first app I've found that lets me do just that. You can create anything you could possibly want in just a couple minutes, with brilliantly simple editing tools. You can create anything just by combining shapes, which is a great concept for easy design on iOS. This app runs super smooth on my iPad Air 2 and the canvas seems almost infinite in size. Backup to the cloud is also available, it's not just limited to iCloud but you can also use other services.In-app purchases are included in the app for new content packs. I purchased a lifetime license which let's you download all content packs now and all the ones released in the future.Get this app! I did, and couldn't be happier.

  • Another Winner from Pixite.

I like the Pixite apps; they're intuitive and easy to use. Assembly's a good little app with an interface for all ages. However, it's as easy or as complicated as you want it to be - designs can be simple or made more complex by interacting with other Pixite apps. The fact that it costs £2.29 to download (at the moment it's £1.49) and then extra for other packs doesn't really bother me. Quite a few developers do it. The thing with Pixite is, on paying the £4.49, you get unlimited access to packs as they're developed. It actually works out cheaper, and, as we all know, the revenue has to come from somewhere. For the price of a posh coffee and a muffin you'll get something that will, ultimately, last longer and give greater satisfaction.

  • App with huge potential BUT!

    Pathfinder23

I honestly believe this app have the potential to be one of the most prominent vector graphic app in the App Store but unfortunately what pulling it down is the mentality of the developers, it is apparent for them that their priority for the app is to make money over promoting and developing the app and it seems their focus these days on their other apps and Assembly is getting forgotten which is a big mistake! I might even go further to say the developers themselves don’t believe in the potential of the app as much as us the users do. I think if this was a £10 app it will get a lot more deserved attention than it currently have. I don’t think the developers are interested in what people are saying so it’s the end of my journey with Assembly for now but I will definitely keep an eye on it and see what the future will bring to it, hopefully it won’t be too late by then.

  • The best of its Kind

    Dillivine

I downloaded the assembly app because I want to learn design and become an illustrator. I play around with the shapes and end making cool stuff, and though I can't talk about the magnificent illustrations I've made, I've seen the products of actual designers and holy, this app is the real deal. It's a mobile app appropriately packed with almost every shape fundamental to design. It has no ads, no lags, and its interface is beautiful. The only things that I personally think are lacking are the text feature and artboard shapes because I would like to use the app to make book covers, magazine covers etc. Other than that, this app is perfect. Oh and I hope one day all the packs will be free so I'll be able to use them 🙈. Ultimately, I'm impressed. Thanks to the build team.

  • Fantastic app

    Psychodelicacy

I love this app. It's easy to use, fun, and with a bit of effort you can make stunning graphics. The bundled shapes give you a lot of inspiration for ways to use basic shapes to build up to complex images. This is absolutely my favourite app for quick and effective graphic creation.I would like to see a way to lock shapes, so that you don’t accidentally resize them while moving them. Saving new palettes is also clunky; I’d like to be able to add my own colours using RGB codes for projects that have a set colour scheme. I might have taken off half a star because of the lack of these features, but giving four stars doesn’t reflect how awesome this app is! So five stars it is.

  • Brilliant job ❗️

    J666J

My first ever review in App Store ‼️One of the best for graphic design so far bringing in editable text in recent update . I would really like to see this app as a real competitor for Photoshop and Corel draw in near future as you guys can do it . Add more fonts and if possible and an option to do a custom made typography , that would be a real game changer 👍 adding a freehand drawing is a brilliant option if u can bring in like hand sketches , that would definitely add a lot more freedom for designers . More File conversion formats is another personal request like .psd, .Cdr, .dwg etc . Many thanks and I hope you would consider my suggestions . I really wish to see this as App of the year again 👏

  • Used it from the very beginning

This app is becoming far too much for storage for long term use and with all the updates I can hardly move a square without it jumping a mile.It would be a good idea to have an easy back up system for your old projects onto a PC or just have an off button for pre-made unwanted ‘stickers’. This would cut down the loading time as you can remove half of the content. The update with the layout options makes no sense when it was much more aesthetically pleasing to have it tucked away instead of splattered across the top, not only do they all look similar with different numbers but even when tapping to flip it to landscape it did nothing. This is mainly because it was struggling to keep up with the app in the first place.I have no issues with slowness on any other apps but this one since recent updates.I have helped with Assembly’s Glitches in the past and I am happy to do so again if needed.

  • Good but full cost of in app purchase not clear till after purchase

For anyone who can layer paper shapes together, this is great, but it lacks Boolean transformations which would allow you to cut one shape out of another. Also without text tools, you can make nice pics but nothing finished for many potential uses. Also it makes the fatally hipster mistake of having square canvases only as hip is better than being practical. Clearly they have more in store for this app because there are two blank buttons o the interface. On top of your £2.50 initial price, you need another £4.50 to buy all the packs and do what you can see in the sample images it appears.So... For anyone who wants to do simple diagrams and images, which they import into something else, it's fine but for complete finished artwork, which its price kind of leads you to think it can achieve, no.What would be really great is if this app was bought by paper53 or Microsoft and made an integrated part of those programs. As a PowerPoint add on it wouldshine brightly...UPDATE:OK, you're right, it does support different canvas sizes, missed that, but it also shows an example with text which is made from core shapes, NOT a text tool which is plain misleading. Also the reviews which followed my initial one were so shiningly happy, addres sing exactly the issues I had concerns over, I did wonder exactly who wrote them.... I suspect that the first update will add text and other goodies but given the high initial price and then add on packs, I wonder if this will price itself out of the market. It looks very pretty, but it lacks function beyond making something 'nice'. Also the shape packs are vastly overpriced because once the core programming for the shape handling is perfected, adding shapes is a trivial matter. I am reminded of programs that only give you a dozen or so core shapes but through the ability to combine AND subtract one from the other and create a library of your own shapes, they don't need hundreds of pre made shapes and therefore do not charge a lot for very little. My 3 star review is still appropriate and maybe if someone tried to create something actually useful with this very pretty effective and fast app, they would quickly switch to a competitor.

  • My complicated artwork has disappeared twice!

    Starkyller

I don't normally review apps, but this app has my attention. I am a graphic artist and photographer using this app to make art in my spare time to unwind and inspire. I've recently started making intricate portraits from the shapes, only to have the work completely disappeared upon reopening of the app. This has happened twice now, and I'm fuming. Hours of work on this laggy app gone. Twice. Please fix the saving issues, it needs to have a clear save button for your work in progress, and a clear indication when it's saving. I love the style of this app, and where it's going but needs this issue resolved like yesterday. I feel like I would give this app 10 stars if the saving was a bit more clear.

  • Best app of its kind

    Born 2 fight

I don’t usually do reviews very often, but was compelled to after using this app. I love it! It’s by far the best one I’ve used and I’ve already recommended it to a few people. As some one that isn’t that great at using illustrator. I was looking for something simpler to use to make vector art to put on t-shirts etc and this app ticks all the boxes for me. It’s so quick and easy to use and I love how many different shapes are available which means you can make pretty much anything if you put your mind to it. I also love the fact you can export it as a PNG file with a transparent background, which for me is ultra handy. If I could add one thing to this already amazing app, would be to be able to add gradient colour to shapes and text. That is it really. Just wanted to add that the subscription is 100% worth it if you use this a lot, like I do.Keep up the good work guys!
