Glow Eve Period Tracker
Ratings & Reviews
So I always thought period apps are ridiculous and for me personally there was no point when i was younger. They were like a clockwork always on time always lastet as long. Took the pill. But it seems that your vagina and womb changes when you hit 20's and have their own pubity. With also having thyroid problems and other issues my periods became very unregular and not knowing when i get them anyone when I go to the doctors is not so good. Eve tracks is perfectly and its community of fellow peeps in your situation actually helps knowing you aint got 10 million types of cancer like google tells you. Obviously always best to swing by the GP's but you get the gist. Anyways it also explains EVER DAY in your cycle, why you feel that way and why what hormone is doing whatever it is doing. Also it tells you when you are fertile and how high it is on what day in percentage. The gems as they call it give you so much insight and i LOVE LOVE LOVE ❤️ the health log haha. This app is actually great fun which makes you keep up on logging in all your health stuff to stay on top of things. It is very well thought through as well as designed. Most importantly I have not purchased a single thing within the app and its already this incredible. Like what?!?! Just give it a try girls.
Handy little tool to keep track of the little Red Devil that torments us women month in month out. It gives us pre warning of the upcoming ‘event’ so we can take all precautions and stock up on those much needed but less desired fancy pads, paracetamol and moorish foods that we crave. But that’s not all ladies, this discrete little app plots out our most fertile dates for contraception detailing how likely we are to conceive. There is also a chat forum where we can communicate about the dreaded devil, or even what the comfiest pair of skinnies are for that really bloated day. Before eve, I had no idea where I was in my cycle, and like most- it almost always caught me off guard. I suffer with severe endometriosis which causes chronic pain as it is on my nerves in my pelvis. I have been in and out of hospitals more then I have fancy restaurants. And every time I see a consultant, the first thing they ask is when was your last period! Thanks to Eve, I literally have my entire years worth of dates at my fingertips! It’s quite simple once you’ve had it for a while but you may need to spend some time getting to know your new best friend first. But it’s worth it!
I’ve been a premium user for years but am now switching to another app. I looked up Eve and found it’s completely founded and run by men who are primarily interested in utilizing data to optimize human reproduction. No surprise that this app no longer centers women’s experiences, wellness, pain or challenges, the updates are just totally geared toward baby-making and selling you things. The UX is only relevant for women trying to conceive, they added way more features for this purpose and removed loads of other data points, such as other general gynecological health symptoms which I had tracked and logged for years - now impossible to access that data which is essential for my healthcare and managing a chronic condition (interstitial cystitis). This is not a good app for women who are just trying to manage/understand their health and body better. Also, the new UI is confusing and overly complex. So unpleasant to use. Completely lost its human touch. Features I actually liked such as cyclescopes and ‘trends’/historical views of individual logged symptoms are gone. Went from using this app everyday and really enjoying the UX to not even wanting to open it at all.
Love this app so much, been using it for years, love the symptom logging and the calendar view, and how I can speak to other people about issues with menstruation for example in the community section! However, I do wish it was more queer inclusive. As a gay woman, I personally don’t want to be getting notifications such as “how to make him have the best s£x ever!” and “the best time to get it on with him!” I understand that’s what a lot of women are in the app for, and I LOVE the community on there, but it seems so focussed on women having banging guys and getting pregnancy results, and for a lot of women, that is not the reality and we feel left out! I know I do! Eve is primarily a period tracking app, although I mostly use for the community section, however it feels incredibly tailored to just cis women, and excludes those trans people who have periods too! It’s a shame that in the last 4 years I’ve been on the app, i’ve not seen anymore inclusiveness develop! If this could happen I would give it 5 stars!
Most other good period tracker apps require you to purchase a monthly subscription before you even access the app itself... with Eve, you can use so many handy features for free, straight off the bat! You can choose to pay a subscription if you want to add other tools or take part in quizzes and such but, personally, the free features that Eve offers are more than enough. You can track your period, ovulation, fertility, and even keep a diary each day of your mood, activities and eating habits. You can also upload your data in case you switch phones which, in my opinion, is extremely handy. You also get free access to the Eve community where you can discuss anything and everything you wish. Overall, the app does the job with a bit extra on the side for you. Very happy :)
I got this app wanting to keep a track of things but not even 10 minutes in, I deleted my account. While yes the calendar was there the following issues solidified my decision to delete the app: the tutorial was needlessly obnoxious and nagging; there’s a social media aspect to this and I have no idea; and thirdly the amount of gender dysphoria I suffered from even just idly scanning through the app upset me so much that I had to delete it.I would not have brought this up if it were minor but with “girl...!” this and “lady...!!” that every two seconds if I feel as bad as I do as of this moment I cannot imagine what it is like for those who go through worse. I do not mean to sound overly SJW-ish but not everyone with a vagina identifies as female or are comfortable with the language used (such as myself) and this can and likely will cause major issues for those wanting to use the app just as a calendar.A side note, just from browsing what little of the app I did, I wouldn’t even recommend touching the social media aspect due to the attitudes I saw.
I love this app so so much it is so helpful, it literally gets my period right exactly to the day. It’s very accurate and it has this thing where you fill in some questionnaire thing everyday which I rlly like and find fun and helpful. There are a lot of people there going through similar stuff to you so you get advice and stuff and just realise you aren’t alone I guess? Even the way the app refers to me, like ‘beautiful’ and ‘girl’ idk it’s just really friendly and nice :))The reason I didn’t give it a fifth star is because the gems (they’re tips on a bunch of stuff) don’t change and it’s quite annoying, that’s something they should fix. But this wouldn’t even bother you if all you’re looking for is a period calendar.I like the design as well, this is my favourite period app I’ve ever tried out. I’d 10/10 recommend✅
My last review's only complaint was the lack of ability to track things like diarrhoea. Upon downloading the app again to see if anything had been added, I was surprised and delighted to find the huge amount of additions to trackable things. Awesome! Edit: Another suggestion for trackable things would be dry skin. Also, there seems to be an issue with Apple Health Sync, in that it lists all the period data as 'unspecified', whereas with other apps it says 'heavy/medium/light'. Furthermore, it would be good to see which day you're heaviest/lightest on, rather than just 'occurs most on cycle day 1-5', which is obvious, as it's your period. Haven't rechecked this since last review yet: The only bad thing is that there seems to be a bug with Touch ID. Whenever I go to fully quit the app, it takes me back onto the Touch ID prompt, and I have to cancel it, go back to my home screen, and go back to quitting it again. I have to do this three or four times before it will actually close. To round off this edited review: Eve is a visually stunning app, with a vibrant community, and lots of tracking options. I just wish it was clearer to actually draw some conclusions from the data, as currently the format is rather confusing. Also, it would be great (though I don't know how feasible) to have an option to disable the 'girl/lady/etc.' vocabulary that Eve gives you. It makes trans people feels dysphoric, in an app where they're likely already primed to feel dysphoric due to its nature. Not saying you should remove it for everyone (or 'pushing my gender neutrality on the rest of us' as one Eve user claimed), just maybe add an option to disable it. Because other than that, Eve does a wonderful job at not being overly 'girly' in presentation.
I used to love this app, but now I feel locked out of most of the useful access I had! What’s the point of having faithfully used this app to log my periods and symptoms, to get to know my body better, then suddenly the app changes so that now I am locked out of most of it and can’t access the simple features which made me love it! Most disappointing of all is that I’ve logged so much in the app, I don’t want to just ditch all that important information about my cycle and my body. I feel like the app has taken all my hard work away from me. I didn’t want all the gems, I just was thankful to a place to log all my symptoms, understand my mood prediction, and track my period. It was the perfect app. I’ve got years of my own data stored in it but now I need to delete it, and find an app that lets me access simple helpful features without locking me out of everything if I can’t afford to buy it!
I can not fault the eve community one bit, everyone is so lovely and gives genuine advice, it’s so great to see a platform that all generations of woman can gather on! Total girl power.Only thing I can suggest is that the period tracking aspect isn’t the best, I get told absolutely nothing about my period I can only track it, and as a young, menstuating, sexually active woman, I think I can speak as a large demographic of your app that it is expensive for the year and the fact that you have to get trapped into a subscription before being able to maybe do a £1.99 first month trial totally puts me off from subscribing! I’d love to see improvements in this aspect of the app.
