Improved — Live Activity now intentionally starts when you tick off a task. This reduces the chance of seeing Live Activity when you can’t act (for example, when you’re not at home). This update improves task notifications so you get tasks done and your plants keep thriving. - Set up notifications for when you return home — a great complement to time-based reminders. - Snooze notifications for 20 minutes or 1 hour — long press a notification to get another reminder shortly. Location-based notifications require access to your precise location and need “Always” access. PlantPal respects your privacy and battery life. It does not run continuously in the background; it registers the area with iOS and is notified when the system detects you’ve returned home. For power users, PlantPal now includes two Shortcuts actions so you can automate it however you like: - "Send Notification" sends a PlantPal notification if there are tasks remaining. Wire it to your own triggers such as location, time of day, Focus changes, etc. - "Get Task Summary" returns text when tasks are due so you can feed it into other actions, for example Messages. Other fixes and improvements: - Morning Summary notifications no longer light the screen, vibrate or play a sound. - Fixed an issue where changes to a room’s colour might not save. - Updated the notification sound: modern and more cheerful, with a subtle sense of urgency. - Redesigned the report view for plant library issues. For example, if you’ve been doing semi-hydro planting, you can rename “Water” to “Top up” or “Flush”. * Create multiple tasks of the same type—ideal when you need more than one fertiliser application, or occasional special treatments with watering or pesticides. * Add text notes to each task, to help you remember important details like dosage or strength. * Enable or disable a task so it no longer shows in your list—much like archiving. ◎ Do more for free We’ve updated how the app works for free: * You can now manage 20 plants for free (up from 5) * You’ll no longer see third-party ads in the app * For free users, it remains that only watering tasks are available ◎ Other updates A few improvements: * PlantPal is now available in Italian. * We reorganised sections on the plant details page to make different aspects of your plants clearer—because there can be many! * We added more external search providers. Fixed. - The “Move…” menu sometimes didn’t work for plants in your list. Fixed. - We’ve added a subtle visual cue for plants that are selected and open in the plant list. This makes it easier to see which plant is active on iPad when using the 3‑column layout. - We’ve refreshed the wording and tooltips around the “Filter” option in the plant list to make it clearer how to use the filter button. We’re also removing support for importing data from a backup.
