Gym Log+
Workout Tracker
Free · In-App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Gym Log+ is the fast, private workout tracker — logging lifting sets in seconds since 2013, now rebuilt from the ground up for modern iPhone and Apple Watch.
I built Gym Log+ in 2013 because I wanted a faster way to log my workouts. I rebuilt it in 2026 for the same reason.
ALREADY A GYM LOG+ USER?
Welcome back. Your data comes with you: on first launch, the app imports every workout, routine, custom exercise, body log, and progress photo you ever recorded. Nothing is deleted from the old data. And if you bought the app or its Pro upgrade — even years ago — your purchase is honored: you get Pro, for life, at no charge.
SWITCHING FROM ANOTHER APP?
Bring your history along. Gym Log+ imports other workout apps' CSV exports in about a minute, so your whole training record lives in one place.
LOG FAST
The whole app is built around one idea: nothing should slow down a set.
• Your previous workout's sets sit beside today's — see what to beat, tap LOG, done
• Autofill suggests your next set; rest timers can start themselves
• Per-exercise rest timers, with a separate timer for your last set
• Supersets, warm-up sets, failure sets, drop sets, and optional RPE
• Cardio too: time, distance, and pace
• Warm-up calculator: a plate-rounded ramp up to today's working weight
• Plate calculator: exactly what to load on each side of the bar
APPLE WATCH — TRULY STANDALONE
Leave your phone in the locker. The watch app logs complete workouts on its own — routines, sets, rest timers — and records heart rate and Activity ring credit. Everything syncs up afterward.
ROUTINES, FOLDERS, PROGRAMS
• Build routines with target sets, reps, and rep ranges
• Organize routines into folders — or convert a folder into a program
• Programs know what's next: finish today's workout and the next day is queued up
• Plan catalog: 15 ready-made plans from beginner to advanced, free
• Share any routine or program as a file a friend can open in Gym Log+
CHARTS THAT ANSWER QUESTIONS
• A progress chart on every exercise: top set, estimated 1RM, volume, and reps — drag to scrub any day
• Stats dashboard (Pro): weekly training frequency, muscle-group volume this week vs last, and all your personal records
• Body-weight trend chart
BODY TRACKING
Log body weight free, with a trend chart, a goal line, and optional two-way Apple Health sync. Pro adds body measurements and progress photos with notes. Finished workouts can be saved to Apple Health too.
MULTIPLE PROFILES (PRO)
Share one device with a partner or family, or log clients' workouts in person as a trainer — each profile keeps its own routines, history, and body logs.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account. Not "sign up later" — there is no account, no server, and no ads. Your data lives on your devices and syncs through your own private iCloud. And it stays yours: export a full backup file or a plain CSV spreadsheet any time, free.
FREE AND PRO
Free, forever: full workout logging, the 462-exercise catalog plus your own custom exercises, the Apple Watch app, exercise progress charts, body-weight logging, the plan catalog, rest timers, the warm-up and plate calculators, import, and export. The free tier includes up to 3 routines and 3 custom exercises.
Pro unlocks unlimited routines and custom exercises, body measurements and progress photos, multiple profiles, and the stats dashboard: $4.99/month, $29.99/year with a 7-day free trial, or $79.99 once — lifetime, no subscription. Bought Gym Log+ before? Pro is already yours.

NEW IN 3.10
• Bodyweight exercises finally count in your stats. Chin-ups, dips,
push-ups — anything you log without weight — now get a Most reps
record in Stats → Records with the date you set it, and their own
progress page with a Reps trend and a Most reps line. Before this the
exercise page offered only weight charts, none of which a bodyweight
movement can ever fill, so years of training read "Not enough data
yet". The chart picker now offers what your history actually has:
weight metrics for a barbell lift, reps for a bodyweight one, both
for an exercise you train either way
• A new set type, Rest-Pause — long-press LOG to log one, or re-mark a
set from its menu. And "to failure" is its own mark now rather than a
type of its own: the type says what the set was, the mark says how it
ended, so a drop set or a rest-pause set taken to failure records as
both. That combination wasn't possible before. Sets you have already
tagged "to failure" read correctly and need nothing from you
• Add to Routine, from wherever you are. Open any exercise — from the
Exercises tab, a past workout, a routine you're previewing — and Add
to Routine lists your routines, grouped by folder and searchable. Tap
one and it's added; tap another and it's added there too, so an
exercise you use in three routines takes three taps and no trip to
the routine editor
• Tap a program day to see its exercises. The day list named the
routine and counted its exercises; finding out which ones meant
hunting the routine down in the Workout tab. A day now opens the same
preview a routine row does, with the targets and when you last did
each exercise
• The history column on the logging screen keeps going. It ends in
"Show older sets" — tap and the next stretch loads, as deep as your
history goes. Very long histories used to stop silently after a few
years
FIXED
• The finish page stays put. Ending a workout right after logging a set
could show the finish page for a split second and then snap you back
to an exercise — the slide toward the next exercise was still in
flight and it won. Where you go now wins instead
• The rest timer could expire in silence while your screen was locking.
With Auto-Lock and your rest about the same length, the bell could
land in the exact moment the screen went dark — after the in-app
sound had stood down and before the "Rest over" notification took
over, so neither made a sound. Exactly one of them always does now
• The History calendar's Today button is always there, and always
tappable, instead of appearing only once you'd paged to another
month. It also sits further from the next-month chevron that was
catching taps meant for it, and it now scrolls your list to today
rather than only moving the calendar
